"To be able to exercise, something I love, and at the same time spread the word about a run that is accessible to everyone and truly makes a difference in the fight against ovarian cancer feels both meaningful and inspiring."
Why did you choose to become an ambassador for Lena's Run for Life?
I’ve been an ambassador for the Swedish Cancer Society for 10 years, and when I heard about this fantastic initiative, I knew I wanted to get involved. When I learned more about the run, I felt strongly that I wanted to help spread the word. It’s so easy to participate and so important.
What does the fight against ovarian cancer mean to you?
I have many people close to me who have been affected by different forms of cancer, and I know how quickly life can change. My mother was diagnosed with ovarian cancer and has been fighting it for five years. The fact that ovarian cancer is still so difficult to detect early makes it even more urgent to raise awareness and to invest more in research. We need new methods for earlier diagnosis and more effective treatments.
How do you plan to participate in the run?
I’m planning to take a long walk with my mother and her beloved little dog, Truls.
What do you hope to inspire others to do?
I hope to show that everyone can take part, whether you work out regularly or just enjoy an evening walk. The most important thing is to participate and help make a difference.

Jenny Hövre
Publisher/accountant
"To encourage participation in a race that everyone can join, and that at the same time directly supports ovarian cancer research, feels meaningful and truly inspiring."
Why did you choose to become an ambassador for Lena's Run for Life?
I have personally been affected by ovarian cancer and am currently in remission. I truly want to make a difference and am honored to be a public face for such an important cause as ovarian cancer research.
What does the fight against ovarian cancer mean to you?
To prevent more people from dying and to encourage people to seek help earlier.
How do you plan to participate in the run?
I’m planning to combine Lena’s Run for Life with another race called Sofialoppet, which is also a non-profit event in support of cancer research..
What do you hope to inspire others to do?
The most important thing is to take part and make a difference. And to encourage people to dare to join, it’s not about being in top shape, it’s about doing your part. I want people to understand that research saves lives, and that it’s possible to come out on the other side after a long period of illness.

Beata Rystedt
Health nerd and running enthusiast
"Running is a big part of my life. Being able to use that passion to spread awareness and make a real difference in the fight against ovarian cancer feels amazing.
Why did you choose to become an ambassador for Lena's Run for Life?
I’ve been part of Team Rystedt, and we have managed to achieve the most kilometers per person in Lena's Run for Life's team competition for several years in a row. When I was asked to become an ambassador, it felt natural to continue contributing in every way I can to raise awareness about a women’s disease that is often diagnosed too late and is spoken about far too little.
What does the fight against ovarian cancer mean to you?
I have seen how cancer can strike like a bolt from the blue, both for those affected and everyone around them. Since ovarian cancer is still so difficult to detect early, it’s especially important to raise awareness. It’s about saving lives but also about showing solidarity with the women who are affected.
How do you plan to participate in the run?
Of course, I will be running! It has become an important tradition for me and my team. We run and walk for the research, but also for all the women who are affected or have lost someone.
What do you hope to inspire others to do?
I want to show that everyone can join in, whether you run fast or just enjoy a walk. The most important thing is to participate, show your support, and help push the research forward.
